Fire Helmet Technology Assists Firefighters
A fire helmet can be one of the most important protective items a firefighter can bring into a fire situation with him or her. While one of the main purposes of a fire helmet for firefighters and rescue workers is to provide protection, advanced technology also allows firefighters to benefit from other advantages offered through new fire helmet equipment as well.
For example, one of the newest trends in fire helmet technology is a fire helmet camera. This type of fire helmet technology incorporates a camera inside the fire helmet which is completely shock resistant, waterproof and integrated. The fire helmet camera is appropriate for both indoor as well as outdoor use.
Reliable fire helmet cameras are used for a variety of purposes including training as well as helping fire investigators determine the source or origin of fires. Many other fire departments and organizations also use the fire helmet camera in wildland firefighting situations as well as hazmat operations. Since the fire helmet camera is completely integrated there are no wires which would hang down and interfere with the mobility of the firefighter.
The fire helmet camera can also be operated in hands free operation so that the firefighter is not hampered in anyway while he or she goes about their work. A swivel mounting system allows the camera to obtain the most useful images. Naturally, this type of camera is also designed and built to withstand situations of high heat.
A useful fire helmet is also typically equipped with a light to assist firefighters in navigating their way in low light situations, as is commonly the case when handling rescue operations inside burning buildings.
American Firehouse provides all of the latest fire helmet technology to help you and your department update your firefighters with the best fire rescue equipment available.
